Altrusa Hosts Festival of Trees

Saturday, November 19th with be a festive day as the Altrusa Anaheim Club hosts their annual Festival of Trees at the Anaheim United Methodist Church Community Center. The event will start at 11:30 AM and end at 2:00 PM.

The event is a kick-off to the Holiday Season and will feature an opportunity drawing of decorated trees and wreaths,  a silent auction, mystery balloons, homemade baked goods, jams, jellies, relish and candy, as well as, gifts to go. Take photos with Santa and Mrs Claus, enjoy the wonderful festive entertainment from the Starlight Carolers and a plethora of tasty refreshments. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Reservations encouraged.

Donations and purchases at this fund raiser benefit Altrusa of Anaheim's Community Service Projects. Altrusa Club of Anaheim is part of a 99 year old international organization of professionals and business people who provide for their communities through volunteer community service.

The Anaheim club, this year celebrates its 69th year of providing such services as the  ROP re-entry scholarships, support for Women’s Transitional Living Center and Pathways of Hope [formerly Halcyon], the  Creative Writing Project, Anaheim Reads and various literacy projects with the Anaheim YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, Boys Hope/Girls Hope and  Joya's college prep classes. Last year the club reached a milestone of over 21,000 blankets delivered through Project Linus and Blankets with Love and over 10,000 recreational and resource books through project Hope Reads to UCI Cancer Center.

The Anaheim club is part of District Eleven which is comprised of California, Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, Raja North and South and Sonora, Mexico. The club meets the fourth Monday of most months at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites on Walnut for business, dinner and a program, at 6 PM.
