Jazz Generations Fundraiser Announced

Anaheim's RYTMO (Reaching  Youth Through Music Opportunities) will host its 2nd annual fundraiser "Jazz Generations" on Friday, June 14th at Sunkist Church in Anaheim,  CA.

Featuring the unique and sophisticated sounds of the jazz quartet Open Hands, the Jazz Generations fundraiser will benefit RYTMO/Berklee City Music Network students, who have been accepted into Berklee's Five-Week Summer Performance Program. The event will also showcase RYTMO students:  Stephanie Burritt, lsai Moran, Addie Hamilton, Darryn Azevedo and Janae Lynch, with testimonials from RYTMO youth.

As  part  of  the  Berklee  City  Music  Network,  RYTMO  students  have  access  to  Berklee City Music's curriculum, the PULSE music method, and are also eligible to earn City Music scholarships to attend the Five-Week Summer Performance Program in Boston. RYTMO's goals are to raise $15,000 to help support funding for airfare and accommodations, as well as ongoing music education for RYTMO students.

RYTMO is a 501{c)3 non-profit that engages underserved youth ages 14-24 in music, technology, and the arts. RYTMO was awarded the City of Anaheim's Non-Profit of the Year in 2009 and has served over 900 youth since its inception in 2003.

Open Hands, a world renowned instrumental jazz quartet, combines Latin, Rhythm & Blues and Contemporary Jazz styles and features: Justo Almario, Abraham Laboriel, Bill Maxwell and Greg Mathieson. Joining Open Hands will be performers, Julio Figueroa, Larry  Mitchell, Del Atkins, Ricky "Z", X Factor singers, Angie Fisher and Brandon Winbush, Bright Is My Sun and more, plus the Jazz Generations House Band which will be under the musical direction of arranger Rique Pantoja.

"Jazz  Generations"  will  be held on  Friday,  June  14th, 2013 from 7:30pm until 10:30pm at Sunkist Church, located   at   701  S.  Sunkist   Street,  Anaheim   92806.   Pre-sale  tickets   go  on  sale  at  www.rvtmo.org immediately  for  $20,  tickets  will  be  sold  at  the  door  for  $25.  Sponsorships  with  reserved  seating  are available, please contact Priscilla Kim at 714-776-0467.  No reserved seating for General Admission.
