I have loads of news to share, but with so much project work at home and the support of my own business, time has been in very short supply.
What I CAN share with you is that we can now process membership payments ONLINE.
Membership renewal letters were mailed out last week to all our member organizations, business partners and individual members. Our fiscal year runs from July 1st of this year to June 30th next year. Renewals or new member applications that come in before July 1st will become effective on that date.
Our next General Meeting will be the last for this year - Thursday June 6th, starting with refreshments at 5:30 pm. And where? The Downtown Anaheim Community Center. This is the time we hand out scholarships to high school students and they in turn present their arts to us. We also give out the annual grants.
And to cap it all our new member Justine Grover from Naranjito Flamenco will give us a demonstration of flamenco dancing. Get ready to stamp those feet and clap those hands!!
The Arts Council Board does not go entirely into recess during the summer, for apart from the June board meeting they also hold a half day retreat in mid-July.
With lovely new literature and the facility to process payments online we will be reaching out to new organizations to join the Arts Council and share their wisdom with us.
SACRED ARTS FESTIVAL
This is just a teaser, but we are working on plans to have a weekend Sacred Arts Festival next spring. Imagine those neighborhood home tours where you buy a tickets and then tour round homes into which you would never normally go. This idea is the same, but we would tour round churches we never normally enter. With guided tours we will see wonderful stained glass and hear the stories, listen to great organ music, watch dancers and actors, enjoy church music groups, and much more.
Would you like to be on the planning committee?? Then let me know. To enable good communication you will need to be good with email and preferably be able to use a smart phone, though the smart phone is not essential!
That's it for now. More later when I get my computer programming finished.
