Tracy Grammer in Concert on Saturday

Tracey Grammer

By Gary trobridge, 2011-09-12
The Living Tradition is pleased to present Tracy Grammer with special guest Melissa Greener in concert next Saturday night. (Times, tickets, etc., in the Calendar section).

Tracy Grammer is a nationally-touring multi-instrumentalist and singer who has accompanied and opened for Joan Baez and recorded with Mary Chapin Carpenter. A favorite on the folk circuit, Grammer is primarily known as a sensitive and creative song interpreter with warm vocals and stage presence, pristine fingerstyle guitar, and an unshakeable dedication to promoting the legacy of her late partner..., songwriter Dave Carter. With several albums that have topped the FOLKDJ-L airplay charts and two intimate EPs that have won critical raves, she has proven herself "one of the finest musicians in folkdom" (Boston Globe).

Inspired by modernist poets & literate folk singers, Melissa Greener's songs are often painterly abstractions. Melodic, rhythmic and quirky, they captivate with dynamic ranges and moody tones, in a unique language all her own. Greener tours throughout North America and Europe performing in theatres, festivals, clubs, house concerts and subways. She sings truths she’s come to believe in.
