Soul Music with Living Tradition
Bev and Greg - from their website
The Living Tradition will present Claudia Russell and the Folk Unlimited Orchestra with special guests Bev Barnett and Greg Newlon on Saturday March 19th.
Claudia Russell is an expressive and versatile singer, as at home on a soulful ballad as on a Buddy Holly style romp, who is also known for her evocative songwriting. Drawing from original compositions, obscure gems, folk and pop classics and contributions from her many talented friends, Claudia’s performances are truly heartfelt and entertaining. She is accompanied by the Folk Unlimited Orchestra which includes Bruce Kaplan on mandolin, guitar and vocals, Mark Petrella on string bass, and Carl Byron on keyboard and accordion.
Jumping the lines between contemporary folk and acoustic rock, Bev Barnett & Greg Newlon combine their varied musical pasts to create a place where you can relax in the comfort of the groove - and know you’re going to leave smiling and maybe just a little more hopeful. Bev and Greg speak directly to the heart with songs about life, love and the pursuit of something real. The connection they have with each other flows through the audience with each song – complete with laughter, bad jokes and a few tears.
