Brace for the ACE - it Might Be Cold!
For the third year, the Downtown Anaheim Arts District will host the Art Crawl Experience, or simply “ACE.” This free art walk and arts festival will feature downtown galleries, an indie crafts/live artists fair, live entertainment, gourmet food trucks, fresh eateries and new boutiques. The ACE committee announced the 2013 dates will be February 9, May 11, August 10 and November 9.
MUZEO will be offering free admission to Across the Andes in the historic Carnegie building during ACE. For a nominal fee, step into the world of Spies Traitors Saboteurs: Fear and Freedom in America, an exhibit on loan from the International Spy Museum in Washington DC.
The main stage at Center Street Promenade and Lemon will feature fiery flamenco dancers from Naranjita Flamenco dance studio, and Rebecca Leigh has been announced to perform. Rebecca is a Los Angeles-based musician, singer/songwriter. She's worked in various capacities in music, and is currently a member of Tracy Newman and the Reinforcements. Her original music has been described as "blues-y with a pop sensibility."
Rothick Art Haus will be holding their opening reception called “SteamPop: Pop Culture through Steampunk Goggles."
Center Street Promenade offers the unique experience of being the venue where many Art In Public Places sculptures are on display. These include “the Veteran's Memorial” designed by Richard Turner, Frank Gehry's architectural masterpiece that is the Anaheim Ice Arena, artwork by Buster Simpson and other leading artists, all within easy walking distance.
The event runs from 6 PM – 10 PM. All venues are easily accessible via the free shuttle service by Anaheim Resort Transit, which will circle the route from the Center Gallery to the Anaheim Packing District, CTR ST, and end at the Rothick Art Haus.
This is more than an art walk; this is ACE. The Art Crawl Experience is held every second Saturday each February, May, August and November.
